The game starts with the incarnation cards being placed randomly in the form of a spiral. One end represents the ultimate good, Nirvana, and the other the ultimate evil, Nakara. The players use their action cards to gather positive or negative karma depending on their chosen goal. At the end of each life cycle, the karma points are counted and the players move on to the corresponding life form.
A life cycle consists of dealing the action cards, voluntarily trading them with other players, playing the cards in turns, and finally rebirth. The players can use their actions to either advance their own reincarnation plans or hinder the others. The players are encouraged to make up stories of their good and evil deeds, bringing a new dimension to the game when some players begin to build the narrative instead of just trying to win.
